If knowledge and wisdom are the fruits of karma then the search is ignited by karma.
If karma is fruit of the unMoved mOVeR then karma is the gift of GOD
Then it's simple GOD is the reason for the search
SECOND
The creator created the being the being with it's mind searches the sought Does it mean the searcher started the search? or The creator who created the being started the search? It has to be the unMoved mOVeR
THIRD
The mind has the capacity to convince oneself that 'I' as the reason for the search?
Who is this 'I'? a fragmentaion of so many thoughts, decisions, joys, griefs, arrogance, humbleness, all moments that has forged in to one-form: I/EGO
Is EGO the creator of GOD? or Is GOD the creator of EGO?

The choosen or the chooser?
